13 April 2011 Music Reflection


Music Theory
                  Today in music class, we did not really do so many things. When we went in to the class today, our teacher told us to give him our music composition that we have to do it as homework. I was not able to finish some part of the part, 4 bars of the music because I did not got any inspiration and I did not have enough time when I did the composition. So I tried my bet to make up these 4 bars but in a way that make sense and sound good. Your teacher then told us to rewrite our music composition to our music book witch also makes me think again about the song that I’m creating. I then found out that some of my friends were not finish with their music composition. After all were done writhing there music and submitting it to the teacher, your teacher then continued with the game we played last time that uses our singing, clapping and bongos. Because I have did it last time, I did not need to do it again. I think that this game is a good game because it exercises our reading and getting our beats constant.

Music Practical
                  Today, our teacher helps us with our music composition. But because, we did not have enough time, our teacher was not able to finish correcting all our music composition. I also understand that making a composition or even fixing the music composition is not easy for a person to do especially the mood of the person. Since the teacher was helping the students correcting there music composition and we not do anything, we practice the song “Indonesia Pusaka,” because not to many people are familiar with the notes and the lyrics to the song. I even don’t really remember the tune on the music and its lyrics. The teacher also help us to get our tuning voice of this song because this so have a very high note and a low note witch made it pretty hard for people to sing. And after few time singing it I was glad that I was able to sing it.

6 April 2011 Music Reflection


Theory
                  In your music class today, we were quite relaxed. We did not really do so much big things. We were first told to give us our homework about the parts of the music composition, the guitar and the violin. It was a pretty easy homework I belief because everything is there in the paper and we just need to match the word with the parts. Our teacher review and explained to us the flats, treble cleft, bass cleft and etc. After that, your teacher told us to get music software to write our own music composition. He told us that we would need it for this term and also grade 10 if we will take music class. He told us to get the software as fast as possible. He also shared to us the things that the software can do. Then our teacher told us to be in a group of 2-3 people and sing the song from the game yesterday. I was but into a group with mage. I was not really confident because I did not practice. But when were in front, I played the bongo and sing while my partner sings and also clap her hands. I was really happy that it was done and we got only a few wrong.

Music practical
                  Today, we continued in our normal practices. We were able to play the G-major scale all together on the violin. The first few tries sounded good and I think with a little bit of more practice, we will be better. I really want to learn a song from the student that also came to Medan and played, but I don’t have the music sheet and the teacher doesn’t have it. I really like the song, because of how expressive you can really be from the low note to the high note and play in slow and fast. Then our teacher gave us time to think about he song that we will be creating and gave us some tips on how to make a better music composition. I found it quite exiting to make my own song but on the same time, it is very hard for me to create one and the good effect the creation of the song.

5 April 2011 Music Reflection


Theory
                  Today is the first day for music class this term 4. I got pretty exited to go into the class and to learn and play more music; because of how music has influence people’s life from the year music was created. When I got in to the class, your teacher came up and told us to bring out the paper that tells everything about this music semester and your teacher explained to us in what we will be doing this semester. I kind of had found it quite boring for me personally; I think it’s because of how the teacher presents it to the class that made be bored. Then our teacher made us play the game of  “who’s smarter that a 5th grader.” I found the game very fun and interesting, as it is the first day of our music class. The game is grouped by our instrument and it the game was a pretty hard challenge. We had to play some clapping and beats from our word. I found it fun but hard. Then our teacher showed us the example of the noted and characteristics, such as whole note, half notes, and told to make a rondo music composition.

Music Practical
                  Because it is our first day of music class, our music teacher did not really have prepared things to do for that session. But since most of the people in the music class are part of a music project week, we shared our music experiences with each other. I found it very fun and good for us to know how the other music groups are doing in their music life. Because I joined Mr. Sadrakh to Medan, I was able to play now more songs and had also inspiration to play more on the violin and really want to play the music instrument and take it seriously. Some people also regretted not going to Medan.
